Body of kidnapped child recovered

Sirsa (Har), Feb 20 (PTI) The body of a kidnappedminor boy was recovered today from Khaja Khera area here afterthe accused confessed that he has killed the child.

Deepu, 8, was allegedly kidnapped last night by hisneighbour Jeeta, who demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh fromvictim''s father, SHO Krishna Yadav said, adding the grievedfamily even agreed to pay the amount but the kidnapper did notturn-up.

After a man-hunt Jeeta was arrested in inebriatedstate from railway station.

On interrogation, the accused revealed that he killedthe boy and disposed the body near Khaja Khera Mor here, theSHO said. Based on information, the body was recovered fromthe area.

Deepu''s body was handed over to his kin this eveningafter post-mortem, the official said, adding that Jeeta hasbeen booked under various sections of IPC.
