Biennial Legislative Council polls in AP on March 17

Hyderabad, Feb 21 (PTI) The Election Commission todayannounced the schedule for holding biennial LegislativeCouncil elections in Andhra Pradesh to fill up 10 vacancies tobe caused by the expiry of terms of the members elected byMLAs.

The notification for the election will be issued onFebruary 28 and the last date for filing nominations is March7. Scrutiny of nominations would take place on March 8.

The last date for withdrawal of nominations is March 10and the polling would take place on March 17. Votes will becounted on the same day, a release by the Chief ElectoralOfficer said here tonight.

The terms of the 10 MLCs would end by March-end. PTISJR RSY PAL
