AP Assembly adjourned as TRS, TDP disrupt proceedings
Hyderabad, Feb 21 (PTI) The Andhra Pradesh Assembly wasadjourned for the day without transacting any business todayas TRS and TDP legislators from Telangana continued with theslogan shouting on separate statehood issue.
Efforts of Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar to break thedeadlock and let the House transact business failed though heheld a special meeting with floor leaders of all parties afterthe Assembly was adjourned thrice in the day.
The din continued for the third day today as members ofvarious parties protested on issues including formation of aseparate Telangana state and revoking suspension of five MLAs.
Earlier, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) members stormedthe Speaker''s podium demanding a resolution on creation of aseparate state of Telangana. TDP members too joined theprotest demanding that the suspension of five MLAs be revokedimmediately.
Atleast 11 Congress MLAs loyal to rebel leader Y SJaganmohan Reddy rose from their seats holding banners anddemanding that the government immediately release funds forreimbursement of tuition fee for students pursuingprofessional courses.
Three Congress MLAs from Telangana too stood up raisingslogans in support of formation of a separate state. Amidstall this, Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar adjourned the Housethrice.
After the third adjournment for half-an-hour, he called ameeting of floor leaders of all parties to break the impasse.
Three TRS and two TDP MLAs were on Friday suspended fromthe House for a week for their unruly behaviour during theGovernor''s address on the opening day of the Budget session.

Raising the issue as soon as the House proceedings began this morning, Leader of Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu urgedDeputy Speaker Manohar, who was in the Chair, to reconsiderthe suspension of the MLAs.
"You should have at least heard the MLAs beforesuspending them. You should have shown restraint," Chandrababutold the Deputy Speaker.
He demanded that the members'' suspension be revokedimmediately.
Labour Minister Danam Nagender intervened said the issuecould be reconsidered if the suspended tendered anunconditional apology to the House and to people of state overtheir behaviour.
The TDP members raised objection to certain remarks madeby the Minister and demanded that they be expunged.
TDP leader Nagam Janardhana Reddy rushed into the Well ofthe House forcing the Deputy Speaker to adjourn theproceedings for ten minutes.
Manohar announced that any unparliamentary language wouldbe expunged from the records.
The House re-assembled after more than an hour and tookup condolence motions for two former members who diedrecently.
The Deputy Speaker announced that the questions listedfor the day were being postponed.
At that point the TRS members stormed the Speaker''spodium demanding that a resolution be passed on the statehoodissue. As the din continued, the Deputy Speaker adjourned theproceedings for another ten minutes.
