UP govt says no ban on issuing SC certificate to Kori members

Lucknow, Feb 19 (PTI) The Uttar Pradesh governmenttoday dispelled claims that a ban had been imposed on issuingSchedule Caste certificate to Kori community.

The state government has not imposed any ban onissuing caste certificate to Kori community (Hindu weaver), agovernment spokesperson said.

Earlier, Rashtriya Lok Dal reportedly alleged that thegovernment had imposed a ban on issuing caste certificates tomembers of Kori community in January.

The spokesman alleged that some vested interests werespreading rumours on the issue.

"This is baseless and far from the fact," he added.
