SMC to begin dog sterilisation in Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 20 (PTI) The Srinagar Municipal Corporationwill begin sterilisation of dogs to curb rising population ofthe canines in the city.

"The SMC will begin sterilisation of male dogs from nextweek," an official spokesman said here today.

SMC staff are being trained in catching dogs and theprocess is likely to be completed very soon...The Corporationhas placed orders for a hydraulic animal catching vehicle," hesaid.

The corporation has sought assistance from experts fromthe US in dog-catching. A team of experts will arrive here forthe purpose later this month.
