Singapore FM visiting New Delhi

Singapore, Feb 20 (PTI) Singapore Foreign AffairsMinister George Yeo is visiting New Delhi from today on atwo-day working tour during which he will be meet his Indiancounterpart S M Krishna.
Yeo is coming to participate in the meeting of thethe Interim Governing Board (IGB) of Nalanda University, anancient varsity being revived in Bihar.
During the visit, Yeo is scheduled to meet hiscounterpart, Mr S M Krishna, as well as other Indian politicalleaders, Singapore�s Foreign Ministry announced today.
Minister Yeo would be accompanied by Foreign Ministryofficials. In April 2010, Yeo accepted the invitation,Krishna, to sit on the IGB in his personal capacity.
The IGB, chaired by Nobel Laureate Professor AmartyaSen, is tasked to oversee the development of the newinternational university.
The New Delhi meet would review the progress that hasbeen made, including the transfer of some 446 acres of land toNalanda University from the Bihar state Government, as well asto put in place the framework for funding, organisationalstructure, construction and operation of the university. PTICORR
