Security alert sounded in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 20 (PTI) An alert was today soundedacross south Kashmir to foil any militant attack using a car,snatched by two unidentified gunmen from a civilian in Shopiandistrict, officials said.

The security forces have been asked to remain on alookout for a Maruti car, which was snatched by gunmen fromMushtaq Ahmad Malik from his house at Pinjoora in Shopian, 55kms from here, they said.

They said the agencies apprehend that militants mightuse the stolen vehicle to stage an attack on security forces.

A case has been registered in this regard, they added.
