Pvt cos'' interest in Delhi govt''s dispute-resolution mechanism

New Delhi, Feb 19 (PTI) Impressed by the functioningof Delhi government''s mediation centres, top executives ofseveral companies today evinced interest in going for similarmechanism for out-of-court settlement of disputes.

Delhi government set up mediation centres across thecity last year to help parties resolve their disputes amicablyand quickly and to ease pressure on city courts which arereeling under the burden of over 11 lakh cases.

Complimenting the functioing of the mediation centres,representatives of various leading companies, at a seminar,said they are also open to the idea of setting up suchcentres, a release issued by Law department of the governmentsaid.

The mediation centres are run by by Delhi DisputeResolution Society (DDRS) in collaboration with the lawdepartment of the Delhi government.
