Man shot dead
Jaunpur, Feb 20 (PTI) A 45-year-old man was shot deadthis morning allegedly over an old rivalry in Rampur area,police said here today.
Laxmi Shanker Singh was called and later shot dead byPinku Singh in front of his house in Khemapur village, theysaid.
Police said that Pinku shot dead Laxmi Shanker toavenge the killing of his father Pramod Singh, who died in2008.
Though Laxmi Shanker was an accused in Pramod''smurder, he was acquitted due to lack of evidence, they said.
A case has been registered against three persons inthis connection and Pinku''s uncle Vinod Singh and grandfatherBhagwat Singh have been detained.
