HAU signs agreement with PI Industries

Hisar, Feb 19 (PTI)Haryana Agricultural University (HAU)has signed an agreement with Rajasthan-based Punjab IndiaIndustries for production and marketing of maize hybrids.

Disclosing this here today, varsity Vice-Chancellor KSKhokhar said that keeping in view the nutritious qualities asalso early maturing, disease free and high yielding qualitiesof the maize hybrids developed by HAU, PI Industries hasexpressed its willingness to produce and sell the seeds ofdifferent maize varieties.

The Vice-Chancellor said that according to theagreement, PI Industries has obtained four maize hybridsnamely HQPM-I, HQPM-5, HM-4 and HM-10 for production andmarketing of maize hybrid seeds.

He said, in lieu of this, the PI Industries will payRs 1.75 lakh annually to the university. The Vice-Chancellorsaid that the tenure of the non-exclusive license is for fiveyears initially.
