Gutkha factory raided

Indore, Feb 18 (PTI) An illegal gutkha factory wasraided by the officials of the Central Excise and CustomsDepartment here today.

The raid was conducted at the gutkha unit producingKargil'' brand gutkha in the Sanver road industrial area asits 41 machines were not registered with the department,official sources said.

A total of 13 lakh finished pouches of the gutkha andabout 755 kg of raw material was also seized by the officialsfrom the unit, they said.

The officials are assessing how much tax was evadedby the unit during the period.
