FIR to be filed against officials as Andhra suffers loss in JV

Hyderabad, Feb 19 (PTI) A local court today directed theAnti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to file an FIR against sixpersons including two IAS officers and an IPS officer forallegedly causing Rs 660-crore loss to Andhra Pradeshgovernment by hatching a conspiracy to favour a company,according to an advocate.

On a petition filed by advocate T Sriranga Rao, the ACBCourt sent a notice to the Director General of the bureaudirecting it to file an FIR against the four governmentofficials and two persons from Raheja Corporation Limited.

The ACB Court also asked the bureau to investigate andfile a detailed report on the complaint and file its statusreport by March 31, advocate Rao said.

The petitioner had alleged that Principal Secretary (IT)K Ratna Prabha, Principal Secretary (Home) B P Acharya,Special Secretary Gopi Krishna and Joint Secretary B S Murthy(both in IT Department) colluded with Raheja Group officialsand reduced the 11 per cent stake of AP IndustrialInfrastructure Corporation in the joint venture with Raheja''sMindspace project in Madhapur here to 0.006 per cent.

Rao in his petition had alleged that "The government''sshare in the JV came down to 0.006 per cent as against 11 percent due to unilateral decisions taken by the four governmentofficials which caused more than Rs 660 crore loss to theexchequer."

He also sought for registration of case against the fourofficials as also against Neil Raheja, Managing Director of KRaheja Corporation and B Rabindranath, Head of Mindspaceproject, under Prevention of Corruption Act and IPC forcheating and criminal conspiracy, among other charges.
