Car in Minister''s convoy hits motorcycle, two injured

Satara, Feb 19 (PTI) A car in Maharashtra MinisterSatej Patil''s convoy dashed into a motorcycle, injuring afather-son duo riding on it, and then overturned hurting threeof its occupants near here this evening, police said.

The mishap took place at Wathar village, about 27 kmfrom here in Western Maharashtra, when the Minister was on hisway to attend a private function at Phaltan town.

The Innova car hit the motorcycle on which one ShivajiSubhedar Shinde (50) and his son Prathamesh (10) weretravelling. Both were injured in the accident and admitted toa private hospital in Satara, they said.

The vehicle then overturned causing injures to threepersons, including State NSUI leader Shivraj More and Sataradistrict Congress unit General Secretary Baburao Shinde,police added.

An inquiry has been launched into the incident. PTICOR RSY
