Announcement on JPC probe into 2G scam likely on Feb 22

New Delhi, Feb 20 (PTI) Government today indicated anannouncement about a JPC probe into the 2G spectrum scam willbe made in Parliament on February 22.

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is believed to haveconveyed this to a meeting of leaders of political partieshere.

"The government has already agreed for a JPC...It hascome in the media...," CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta toldreporters when asked whether the JPC announcement would bemade on February 22.

Another opposition leader, who declined to beidentified, spoke in a similar vein noting that Mukherjee hasrequested the leaders not to speak to the media on thegovernment stand on the issue.
