MPCC congratulates Chavan on completion of 100 days in office
Mumbai, Feb 18 (PTI) Congratulating Chief MinisterPrithviraj Chavan on completion of 100 days in office,Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today saidhe has brought discipline in the administration and focusedon development work.
MPCC Vice President Hussain Dalwai criticised opponentsfor commenting that under Chavan''s stewardship, functioning ofthe government had slowed down.
"He has brought discipline in the administration andconcentrated on development work. Only those whose individualinterests have not been protected will make such criticism,"Dalwai said.
According to him, farmers who suffered due to unseasonalrains last year got relief due to the Rs 1000 crore packageannounced by the Chief Minister.
"Similarly, the development in backward regions will geta boost because of monitoring system put in place by Chavan.
Vidarbha will get Rs 10,000 crore in the next three years andthis is a big development," Dalwai said.
Apart from getting a go-ahead for Jaitapur nuclear powerproject and Navi Mumbai International airport, Dalwai said thenew Chief Minister had ensured that about 20 major projectswhich were under various stages of implementation get on fasttrack towards completion.
Speaking about Chavan''s visit to Jaitapur next week tomeet locals opposing the power project, Dalwai said it washeartening to note that even the locals are ready to have adialogue with the Chief Minister. (More) PTI MR DK
