Deoband, Arya Samaj join hands to fight corruption
Bagpat (UP), Feb 18 (PTI) Members of Arya Samaj communityand Darul Uloom Deoband today pledged to launch a collectivebattle against corruption, in a conference held in Badaut townin the district.
Social activist Swami Agnivesh, who was invited as thechief guest at the conference held to promote communal harmonyamong people, said that corruption is the biggest challengefaced by the country today and the people will have to launcha "collective battle" to defeat the menace.
Raising the issue of black money stashed abroad, he said,"Lakhs of crores of black money is stashed abroad and thegovernment is not taking appropriate measures to bring itback. It is the people''s money and we will have to fight toget it back."
Maulana Ehteshamul Hasan of Deoband said that it isessential to promote communal harmony in the country and wecan only progress when we work together to deal with ourproblems.
Issues like dowry, female foeticide and alcoholism werealso deliberated in the conference. PTI CORR KAP
