2 IT parks, State Data Centre to be inaugurated by CM tomorrow
Madurai, Feb 18 (PTI): Two Information Technology parks atTirunelveli and Madurai and the State Data Centre in Chennaiwill be inaugurated by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi throughvideo conferencing tomorrow.
The Managing Director of Electronics Corporation of TamilNadu (ELCOT) Santhosh Babu said the Special Economic Zone atIlandaikulam had come up at a cost of Rs 16 crore with allinfrastructure. Money used to build the infrastructure wouldbe collected from companies which would operating from here.
Honeywell and other companies had been allotted land. Anycompany with a turnover of above Rs one crore and exportbusiness of Rs 50 lakh would be given space, he said.
ELCOT was ready to allot land on "One-acre basis" (Minimum).
Infrastructure had been provided at Tirunelveli also.
The SDC aimed at centralising work of all departments inthe state. It would have centralised servicer with a completenetwork maintained by a team of technical experts round theclock.The project was funded by the central government andwould funtion from tomorrow.
The CMD and Minister for IT Pongothai Aladi Arunainspected the Madurai SEZ-1 last evening.
