Sale of Nimesulide drug banned in HP

Shimla, Feb 17 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh health departmenttoday banned the manufacture, sale and distribution ofNimesulide drug in the state with immediate effect.

The health department decided that Cisapride,Phenylpropanolamine, Human Placental Extract Sibutramiune andR Sibutramine and its formulations for human use be withdrawnimmediately from the market.

"As per the notification issued by the CentralGovernment, the manufacture, sale and distribution of thesedrugs had been prohibited with immediate effect and permissiongranted for these drugs and formulation stands withdrawn fromall manufacturing drug licencees and loan licencees," anofficial spokesman said.
