Petition seeks action against former Rajasthan minister
Jodhpur, Feb 17 (PTI) Hearing a petition seeking actionagainst former Rajasthan minister Amin Khan for his allegedderogatory remarks about President Pratibha Patil, a localcourt today ordered the police to enquire into the matter andsubmit their report on March 29, the next date of hearing.
Former councillor of the Jodhpur Municipal Corporationand BJP activist, Tribhuvan Singh Bhati had filed the petitionin the ACJM court stating that the allusion of the highestpost of the country for giving example to the Congress workersduring an address by Khan was "humiliating and derogatory".
Bhati said he was quite pained at the way, Khan, formerpanchayati raj and waqf minister, quoted the President in hisaddress.
The court ordered the SP (city) to conduct a detailedinquiry with respect to the petition and asked him to producethe report before the court on March 29.
Addressing party workers in Pali district recently, Khanhad reportedly said that Patil did not ask for any positionbut was made the President due to her loyalty to the Gandhifamily and cited instances of her association with IndiraGandhi.
