Over one lakh take part in temple car festival
Tiruchendur, Feb 18 (PTI): Over one lakh people participatedin the Maasi Makam Car festival at Senthil andaval temple heretoday.
The festival began on February 9 with hoisting of thetemple flag. The dieties of Lord Muruga along with Valli andDeivayanai were taken around in a three hour processon from6.00 AM in the morning, officials said
The festival was also celebrated at Kumbakonam SriChakarapani swamy temple in Thanjavur district.
Thousands of people took a holy dip at the Masi Makam tankand offered worship to their forefathers.
Masi magam festival takes place every year in the Tamilmonth of Maasi (February to March) on the occurrence of thezodiac star Magam. PTI SSN APR
