Committee on PDS visits Amravati

Amravati, Feb 17 (PTI) Use of modern technology coupledwith the transparency is needed for proper distribution offoodgrains to beneficiaries of Public Distribution System,said Justice D P Wadhwa, Chairman of Central VigilanceCommittee on PDS, here.

The Committee is on a two-day tour of the district.

Wadhwa was speaking at a meeting at district collector''soffice here.

He also said that there should be a toll-free numberwhere consumers can lodge complaint about PDS deficiencies.

The committee is slated to conduct a public hearingtomorrow as to the problems faced by PDS beneficiaries in thedistrict.
