Cold returns to some places in Punjab, Haryana
Chandigarh, Feb 18 (PTI) Cold returned to Punjab andHaryana today with the mercury dipping a few notches belownormal at several places.
Amritsar in Punjab was the coldest place in the twostates recording a low of 5.2 degrees, two notches belownormal, the MeT office said here.
Ludhiana registered a low of 8.1 deg C, while Patialarecorded a minimum of 7.6 deg C, two below normal.
In Haryana, Narnaul experienced a cold night at 6.5deg C, down three notches, while the minimum at Rohtak settledat 6.5 deg C, two below normal.
Karnal, too, braved the chill at a low of 6.8 deg C, downthree notches while the low at Hisar was 7.7 deg C, downone.
Chandigarh recorded a low of 8.4 deg C, down one degree.
The MeT said that fog reduced visibility this morning atmany places including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Karnal and Rohtak.
Not much change has been forecast by the MeT in the nighttemperatures in the plains until tomorrow.
