Amarnath pilgrimage to commence on June 29
Jammu, Feb 18 (PTI) The annual pilgrimage to therevered Amarnath cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas willcommence on June 29 this year and will conclude on August 13.
This year the yatra has been curtailed by 10 dayscompared to last year''s period of 56 days, a spokesman of theShri Amarnath Shrine Board told PTI here.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting ofthe Shrine Board, chaired by Jammu and Kashmir Governor N NVohra in Delhi, he said.
Vohra is also the chairman of the Amarnath ShrineBoard.
Last year, the annual Amarnath pilgrimage had begunon June 30 and culminated on August 24.
