Three held for killing deer
Bhubaneswar, Feb 16 (PTI) At least three persons,including a father-son duo, were arrested on charge of killinga spotted deer at Chandka-Dampada sanctuary, on the outskirtsof the state capital today.
"We have seized about 25 kg deer meat, horn and thesharp weapon used in killing the animal and arrested threepersons in this connection," divisional forest officer A KPatnaik said.
Two others allegedly involved in killing the deer arelikely to be arrested, he said.
They were arrested under the Wildlife Protection Act,1972, Patnaik said.
The arrested persons confessed to have been sellingthe deer meat at the state capital.
