Despite of its absence in the gadget show, iPhone bagged the prestigious award beating all other smartphones and tablets showcased by different manufactures.
The winners for 2011 were announced by the Global Mobile Awards. While announcing the awards, judges commented on Apple iPhone 4 that it had a,"Great screen, sharp design, fantastic materials, and phenomenal ecosystem for app developers. In a tight race, the iPhone 4 built on the success of its predecessors to set the pace for smart phones."
The creator of popular game Angry Birds, Rovio bagged two awards, Best Mobile App award and App of the Year on the Apple Platform.
"This is an application that is simple, intuitive, incredibly addictive, and perfect for “snacking" consumption. It has underlined the importance of the applications market, and helped raise the credibility of small independent developers outside the mainstream," judges commented on Rovio's Angry Birds.
