School van falls into canal in Kerala, five dead

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 17 (ANI): At least four kindergarten children and a woman attender of a private school were killed after their van fell into a canal at Chakkai area in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.

The children and the woman were taken out from the Parvathi Puthanar canal by local rescuers and rushed to a hospital, where they were declared dead.

A search is on to ascertain if any more children were trapped in the muddy bed of the canal.

All of them were LKG and UKG students. (ANI)
