National seminar on curricula reforms begins
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 16 (PTI) A three-day nationalseminar on curriculum reforms in school education in thecountry, being organised by the Kerala State Council forEducational Research and Training (SCERT), began here today.
State Education Minister M A Baby inaugurated the seminar,being attended by representatives from 18 states, an officialrelease here said.
The meet was aimed at providing a platform for sharing theexperiences of states in the curriculum change process sincethe announcement of the National Curriculum Framework in2005, the release said.
Directors of SCERTs from each participating state wouldmake deliberations on the subject, focussing on the curriculumreforms initiatives in the respective states in conjunctionwith the National Curriculum Framework 2005.
The seminar was expected to draw up a road map forcurriculum reforms in various states for ensuring quality,keeping in tune with the national perspective, the releasesaid.
