Jawan, two others commit suicide

Jammu, Feb 17 (PTI) An army jawan allegedly committedsuicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Jammudistrict, officials said here today.

Sepoy Sanjeev Soni of 18 Dogra Regiment shot himselffrom his service rifle in Mandal Army Camp in Akhnoor belt ofJammu district late last night, officials said, adding he diedon the spot.

A court of inquiry has been ordered into theincident by the army.

In a separate incident, a Class XI student MaheshSingh allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with hisfather''s rifle in Bali village of Kalakote tehsil in Rajouridistrict last night, the police said.

Police has seized the rifle and registered a case.

In another incident, a mechanic Dilbagh Singhcommitted suicide by shooting himself with a localcountry-made gun in Prem Nagar area of Doda district.

The body has been handed over to his family members,who are residents of Una district of Himachal Pradesh.

A case has been registered by police and investigationhas begun into the matter.
