Himachal to have IIIT soon

Dharmshala, Feb 15 (PTI) The Himachal Pradesh governmenttoday said an Indian Institute of Information Technology willsoon be set up in the state.

"We have been demanding an IIIT for last one year and aresatisfied with the Centre''s response. The Union government hadasked whether the state could provide the land and funding forthe project, and we gave an affirmative reply...I will meetHRD Minister Kapil Sibbal on February 17 in Delhi and putforth our claim for the allotment," state Technical EducationMinister Narendra Bragta said.

Besides, two hydro electric engineering colleges and fivepolytechnical institutions will also be set up in the state,he said.
