Two held with 21 kg charas from Sabarkantha

Banaskantha, Feb 15 (PTI) Two men have been arrestedwith over 21 kilo charas worth Rs 15 lakh from near Parantijtoll plaza in Sabarkantha district, Narcotic Control Bureau(NCB) officials said here today.

Acting on a tip off, the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB)was keeping a watch on the Prantij toll plaza on NationalHigway 8 on the Rajasthan border yesterday, where they cameacross some suspicious people in a car from the neighbouringstate, they said.

When the NCB officials checked the car, they found tenpackets of Charas weighing 21 kg hidden in a specialcompartment in the rear side of the car.

Both the persons identified as Sarfaraz Ahmed (20)from Ahmedabad and Mukesh Khichi (30) from Ajmer have beenbooked under the Narcotic Drug psychotropic Substances (NDPS)Act, NCB Superintendent M P Saraiya said adding that furtherinvestigation was on, he added.
