MWC: Acer Iconia Smart - Smartphone cum tablet

Barcelona, Feb 16: The ongoing gadget show, 2011 Mobile World Congress (MWC), would be different from other shows, namely Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, for its special smartphones that offer the features of tablets. Different manufactures showcased smartphone/tablets during the show.

One of the smartphones that amalgamates the features of a tablet launched in 2011 MWC was Acer Iconia Smart. It has a big 4.8-touchscreen that supports 1024x480 pixel resolution, which is available in many tablets like Dell's Streak. Acer Iconia Smart runs on Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

The 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor makes Iconia Smart powerful enough to compete with other tablet and smartphones. The Dolby Surround Sound technology for audio makes it a tough guy and ensures maximum multimedia entertainment.

Acer Iconia Smart supports Adobe Flash 10.1 which makes browsing more enjoyable and easy. This tablet smartphone has a 8 megapixel camera at the rear with LED flash and a 2 megapixel camera at front. This smartphone boasts the attractive Acer UI 4.0 on it.

Acers' new smartphone connectivity features include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and HSDPA radio module. HDMI port enables users to connect with other devices for enjoying movies and videos.

Acer has not yet announced the official release date and price of Acer Iconia Smart. It is expected to hit the market in the second quarter of 2011. The availability and price in Indian market are not available.
