Tata Comm completes acquisition of US-based BitGravity
Mumbai, Feb 16 (PTI) Tata Communications, today saidthat it has completed the acquisition of US-based contentdelivery network (CDN) provider, BitGravity.
The acquisition of BitGravity, which built the firstvideo delivery network to deliver video on demand and livestreams on the Internet, is a "logical next step" to enhanceTata Communications� global CDN offering, the company said ina release.
In 2008, Tata Communications had entered into astrategic tie-up with the company by investing USD 11.5-million which helped it bag clients like NDTV, Web18, QuickHeal Technologies and Nimbus Communications, the release said.
However, details of the transaction, which was firstannounced on January 11, like total deal value, were notmentioned by the company.
BitGravity''s Chief Executive and co-founder, Perry Wu,will continue to lead the existing team from its San Franciscooffice in conjunction with Tata Communications'' global CDNteam, it said.
