Rs five crore illegal assets recovered from Chg govt official
Raipur, Feb 15 (PTI) A Water Resource department officialwas found to possess disproportionate assets to the tune ofnearly Rs five crore during raids by the Economic OffencesWing (EOW) today, EOW officials said.
Acting on a tip-off, EOW sleuths raided five premises ofA K Gautam, a Water Resource department official posted in theKorba district, and recovered unaccounted wealth of nearly Rsfive crore, Additional DG (EOW) D M Awasthi said.
The illegal wealth included a commercial complex worth Rs
three crore, a house in Korba worth Rs 60 lakh, and anagricultural plot worth Rs 78 lakh in Sagar, he said addingthat Gautam''s wife Nirmala also owned a locker in a bank here.
