Rains bring down temperature in Punjab, Haryana

Chandigarh, Feb 16 (PTI) Overnight rains in most partsof Punjab and Haryana led to a dip in temperature in theregion.

While Amritsar received 16.2 mm of rains, Bhiwani got15.6 mm of rains. Hisar received 10.3 mm of rains followed by8 mm at Narnaul, 7.4 mm at Ludhiana, 6.2 mm at Ambala, 5.9mm at Chandigarh, five mm at Gurgaon, 2.7 mm at Rohtak and 1.2mm at Karnal.Patiala was the coldest place in the plains of Punjaband Haryana with a low of 9.3 degrees Celsius, which was onenotch below normal.

Chandigarh and Amritsar settled at an identical low of10 degrees Celsius, one and three notches above normalrespectively.

While Ludhiana settled at a low of 10.5 degreesCelsius, two notches above normal, the minimum temperature inGurgaon was 11 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.

Rohtak recorded a low of 11.1 degrees Celsius, threedegrees above normal while Ambala registered 11.1 degrees onenotch above normal.

The Met has forecast cloudy weather with possibilityof light showers at a few places in the region during the nexttwo days.
