Prez, VP, PM greet people on Milad-un-Nabi

New Delhi, Feb 15 (PTI) Leaders today greeted the peopleon occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, saying Prophet Mohammad''s lifeand work is an inspiration to lead a life of compassion andbrotherhood.

"May the message of universal brotherhood, compassion,tolerance and service to humanity preached by the HolyProphet guide and inspire us to follow the path of harmony andwork for the welfare of all," President Pratibha Patil said inher greetings.

Extending his good wishes to the people on the occasion,Vice President Hamid Ansari said Milad-Un-Nabi reminds thepeople of the life and spiritual teachings of ProphetMohammad.

"Through the message of love, humanism, righteousness andtolerance, the teachings of The Prophet continues to be asource of spiritual strength for all humanity," he said andhoped the enlightened message of The Prophet would guide thepeople on the path of peace and harmony.

In his message, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said thebirth and life of the Prophet symbolised a message ofselflessness, brotherhood and amity among people.

"The Prophet�s life and work is an inspiration to lead alife of compassion and brotherhood. May the festival spreadpeace, love and tolerance among all," Singh added.
