Police inspector caught accepting bribe
Coimbatore, Feb 15 (PTI) A police inspector attached toSaravanampatti station was arrested today while he wasallegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 to show some officialfavour.
Based on a complaint by a pump manufacturing unit owner,Ganesan, the slueths of Directorate of Vigilance and AntiCorruption (DVAC) wing of police, today asked him to givetainted notes to the official and caught him red handed,police said.
The official, Shivakumar had reportedly demanded Rs 50,000to investigate a case of Ganesan, which he had lodged inNovember last stating that Rs six lakh were misappropriated byone of his women employees, they said.
Shivakumar was arrested when he was accepting the initialpayment of Rs 15,000, police said.
