NCP TN unit headed for split
Chennai, Feb 16 (PTI) Nationalist Congress Party is on theverge of a split in Tamil Nadu with a section of partymendisapproving the high command''s decision to dissolve the stateunit headed by Tindivanam K Ramamurthy.
At a meeting of partymen here today, a resolution wasadopted terming as "unilateral" the high command''s February 8announcement to dissolve the state unit and remove Ramamurthyfrom presidentship.
Ramamurthy told reporters after the meeting that most ofthe party workers felt NCP should go with AIADMK in the comingAssembly polls.
He said NCP should not align with DMK as decided by thehigh command and added that just as NCP, a constituent of theUPA at the Centre, had aligned with the LDF in Kerala, thesame should be allowed in Tamil Nadu.
