Mayawati takes action against officials during surprise checks

Lucknow, Feb 15 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief MinisterMayawati today ordered action against more than half a dozenofficials, including IAS and IPS officers, during surpriseinspection of two districts.

"The CM carried out surprise inspection of Jhansi andLalitpur districts to review progress of development works,implementation of welfare schemes launched by the government,state of essential services, law and order situation," agovernment spokesman said here.

During review of law and order and welfare schemesin Jhansi, Mayawati ordered immediate transfer of the DM forslack supervision and the SSP for failing to improve law andorder situation.

She also ordered departmental action against the twoofficers, he said.

For failing to control crime, the CM orderedsuspension of a Deputy Superintendent of Police and a StationHouse Officer of Mauranipur tehsil in Jhansi district.

She also ordered suspension of Pargana Adhikari andtehsildar in Garautha for slackness in supervision.

During inspection in Lalitpur district, Mayawatiordered suspension of PWD engineers, including superintendingengineer, for poor and incomplete construction works.
