Younger generation should participate in politics: Rahul

Aizawl, Feb 14 (PTI) AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhitoday asked the younger generation to actively take part inpolitics as youths comprised over 40 per cent of the country''spopulation.

Addressing students of the Mizoram University at Tanhrilnear here, Rahul said being born and brought up in a politicalfamily, he was of the view that politicians should be inpolitics for the upliftment of the people.

"I believe in listening (and then) implementing", hesaid, adding that he had come to Mizoram to listen to thevoice of the youths.

"I believe that the youth, comprising more than 40 percent of our population should come into politics," he said.

After interacting with the students for more than anhour, Rahul inaugurated a girls'' hostel inside the universitycampus.

Rahul changed his earlier plan to return today and wouldstay overnight in Aizawl, Congress sources said, adding hewould address a press conference here tomorrow.
