Yeddyurappa welcomes HC order
Bangalore, Feb 14 (PTI) Karnataka Chief Minister B SYeddyurappa today termed as a historic judgment, the decisionof the High Court to uphold Speaker''s order, disqualifyingfive independent MLAs from Assembly membership.
"It is a historic judgement that will go a long way instrengthening the roots of democracy and restrictinglegislators from anti-party activities," he said.
"It is a big lesson to all the MLAs and MPs and allAyarams and Gayarams in this state and other states," he toldreporters while reacting to the verdict.
"I welcome the decision of the High Court. It is avictory for the legisaltive process," he said, hailing thedismissal of petitions filed by independent MLAs challengingtheir disqualification.
