Murali''s return would further strengthen Cong: K Padmaja
Kannur, Feb 15 (PTI) The return of former KPCC President KMuraleedharan into Congress party, would help to furtherstrengthen the party in Kerala, K Padmaja Venugopal, daughterof late Karunakaran, said today.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Padmaja, who had come toPayyannur in the district for participating in a functionorganised in memory of Karunakaran, expressed her happiness atthe return of his brother Muraleedharan, who was undersuspension for six years for anti-party activities.
''My father''s soul would be very happy'', She said.
Karunakaran and Congress workers in the state wantedMuraleedharan to be back into Congress party, she said.
The presence of Muraleedharan, who was known for hisorganisational capacity, would do good for UDF in theforthcoming assembly elections in the state, she said.
Earlier, KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala and Leader ofopposition Oommen Chandy, today met AICC Chief Sonia Gandhiat Delhi for the re-admission of Muraleedharan.
