Formula One Race
New Delhi, Feb 15: Although there have been severe delays in preparing the venues of several grand sporting events including the Common Wealth Games (CWG) and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, India may finally be on her way to host a global event without any glitches.

According to a report by Reuters, the construction of the circuit for the inaugural Indian Grand Prix, which is scheduled for Oct 2011, is ahead of its schedule.

Reuters cited Vicky Chandhok, of the Federation of Motorsports Clubs of India (FMSCI), as saying, "The track is well ahead of schedule...He (International Automobile Federation (FIA) race director Charlie Whiting) was very pleased. He liked the track and was impressed by the progress made so far. He suggested some changes which will be incorporated to encourage overtaking."

The event is scheduled for October 30, 2011.
