Home guards feeling insecure after SPO''s killing: Police
Phulbani (Orissa), Feb 15 (PTI) Four days after thekilling of a special police officer by Maoists in Orissa,several home guards were feeling insecure and thinking ofquitting, the police said.
Following the killing of SPO Narenga Mallick, stationedat Kotagarh police station, on Friday, home guards inthe area held a meeting yesterday where about 15 of themexpressed a desire to quit their jobs, the police said.
They had earlier been threatened by Maoists, they said.
''''Three of them, Ajay Nayak of Kesaraguda village, AkshayBehera of Kotagarh and Joseph Mallick of Denguda village, havesent their letters to the appropriate authorities in thisregard", the police said.
�����Five home guards deployed within the Kotagarh policestation limit had eartendered resignation in September, 2010after being threatened by Maoists.
