Hinduja Foundries Employee Union signs wage agreement

Chennai, Feb 15 (PTI) The Employee Union of autocomponent manufacturer Hinduja Foundries today signed atripartite wage agreement, after the management assured thempayment of long pending arrears.

About 2,000 employees would get arrears of Rs 32,500each, an official release said.

The agreement was signed in the presence of LabourCommissioner Hans Raj Varma and Hinduja Foundries ManagingDirector V Mahadevan and senior government officials,including representatives of the Employees Union, it said.

The company manufactures grey cast iron and aluminiumgravity die-castings for automobiles, compressors, industrialengines, power generators and tractors, as well as for defenceand marine applications at its Ennore plant here.
