Gangrape victim not cooperating with us: Police

Ghaziabad, Feb 14 (PTI) The woman who was allegedlygangraped by four persons here last week is "not cooperating"with the police in its investigation into the case.

SSP Raghubir Lal, told media today, that he himselfcontacted the 24-year-old victim and conveyed that securitywould be provided if she was willing to record a statement ina court of law under section 164 of the CrPC (recording ofconfessions and statements).

All the four perpetrators have been arrested andpresently lodged in jail.

The girl, however, has refused to cooperate and notundergone medical examination in this regard, Lal said.

"Such attitude (of the victim) with the police willmake it easy for the arrested. The perpetrators would securebail from the court," he said.

The victim was allegedly raped by the four men lastweek behind Kendriya Vidyalya here under Kavi Nagar policestation. The men had also beaten up her friend till he fellunconscious while committing the heinous crime.
