''Ensure bureaucrats follow rules with elected representatives''

Lucknow, Feb 14 (PTI) Congress in Uttar Pradesh todayasked the Mayawati government to issue orders to ensure thatbureaucrats follow protocol while dealing with electedrepresentatives.

"The officers in this government were not availableeven for public representatives like us. Contrary to theprotocol, they are not available of phones and never ringback. This is the pitiable situation and should be taken careof.. Even members of the ruling parties and ministers are nottaken seriously by officers," Congress Legislative Partyleader Pramod Tiwari said while raising the issue during ZeroHour in the UP Assembly.

He said that earlier orders issued in this regard bythe Speaker was not followed and there was a need to deal withthe situation strictly.

State Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Lalji Verma inhis reply said that the government would ensure thatdirectives issued earlier should be followed in letter andspirit and officer should follow due protocol while dealingwith members of the House.
