Armed Tanzanian couple detained at Hyderabad airport

Hyderabad, Feb 15 (PTI) A Tanzanian couple has beendetained for carrying a revolver and seven live cartridges atthe Rajiv Gandhi International airport in Shamshabad here.

Shande Solam Mbege and his wife Monica from Tanzaniawere boarding a flight last night when security personnelfound live bullets during the luggage scan, airport sourcessaid today.

The bullets were found in the luggage of Monica. The duoarrived here on February four for treatment as Shande wassuffering from paralysis. After treatment at a hospital herethey were on their return journey, they said.

Though Shande has a license for his revolver, carryingbullets without proper permission in our country isan illegal act, sources added.

The couple was detained by the airport police.
