Woman threatens to commit suicide during Maya''s Meerut visit

Meerut, Feb 14 (PTI) Accusing the police of not takingnecessary steps to find her missing husband, a woman here hasthreatened to commit suicide during Uttar Pradesh ChiefMinister Mayawati''s visit to the city later this week.

Monika Gupta, resident of Indira Nagar, yesterdaythreatened Meerut IGP Rajnikant Mishra that she will commitsuicide during Mayawati''s visit if police fail to find herhusband Ravi Kumar, missing since last five months, officialssaid.

According to the woman, Kumar had gone with his elderbrother Shyam and nephew Amit to deposit Rs five lakh in bankafter which he went missing. She alleged that Shyam hasmurdered him and disposed of the body.
