Voting begins for Khadia assembly by-poll
Ahmedabad, Feb 14 (PTI) Voting for the Khadia assemblyby-poll began today amidst tight security arrangements herewith nearly 10 per cent voting recorded in the first twohours.
Khadia constituency located in the heart of the citywas held for last eight terms by late veteran BJP leader AshokBhatt who was also the state Assembly Speaker.
Bhatt died mid-term on September 29, last year, whichnecessitated the by-polls.
BJP has fielded Ashok Bhatt''s son Bhushan, while Congresshas given ticket to their youth leader and local businessmanJagat Shukla.
The Khadia seat has been held by the BJP for more than25 years, but the fight is keen this time due to change in thedemographic profile.
