L&T bags Rs 1,100 cr Gujarat power plant project

Mumbai, Feb 14: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has bagged an order from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) worth over Rs 1,100 crore.

GSECL, which is a company run by the Government of Gujarat, granted the order to L&T to set up a 375 megawatts (MW) gas based power plant at Dhuvaran, near Baroda in Gujarat, on EPC basis.

L&T grabbed the order after competing with several domestic and international power plant equipment manufacturers.

L&T's well established strengths in design, engineering and construction, accompanied with robust quality and safety standards, and on-time delivery are vital contributors to its success in the power industry.

L&T is a $9.8 billion technology, engineering, construction and manufacturing company with global operations. It is one of the largest and most respected companies in India"s private sector.
